Pat Anderson

Hi. My name is Pat Anderson, and I'm seventy six years young. I started Warrior Babe at the end of August twenty twenty four.

Continual diets were my norm from the time I was ten or eleven when a boy in my class taunted me with fatty patty two by four can't get through the kitchen door. Now I wasn't fat, but those words started me on a sixty six year yo yo journey.

I tried every diet along the way, and when I heard about the carnivore diet, it was a no brainer I was going to try it.

During COVID, I'd lost thirty five pounds on my third round of Weight Watchers.

However, I wasn't feeling great.

I was tired all the time, had no strength, and my desk job was keeping me tied to a chair with no ambition to move when I came home at night.

And I had a lot of stress in my joints.

So last March, I embarked on the carnivore adventure because I was achy all over. It worked for me, and I felt much better. But after six months, I'd only lost a couple of pounds, and the diet was challenging.

The only diet I'd never tried was counting macros.

A friend had lost lots of weight counting macros and maintaining the loss, but it seemed a more challenging challenging routine than I wanted to embark on.

However, I saw Nikki Stout on Facebook and was intrigued. I wanted to start moving, but, honestly, I was fearful I would fail at losing the few pounds I still wanted to lose and or getting strong and healthy.

That was my main objective, though, to be strong and healthy as I don't wanna be a burden to my family as I age.

So although the price was a shocker, I told myself I was worth it. My philosophy has always been you can put the money out in the beginning to be healthy, or you can give it to the hospitals later when you're sick. I want it to be healthy and strong.

The process has been at times challenging, but I've got macros mostly mastered now. Sleep is still an ongoing project, but with supplements, it's getting better. When I started exercising, my routine was ten minutes of walking a day, and it was a very real challenge.

My coach, Celeste Royos, was amazingly considerate of my fears and allowed me to progress slowly.

I'm now doing thirty five minutes a day, have increased my steps from a few hundred to a recent high of over eleven thousand.

Exercising has improved from doing just my body weight resistance to eight pound weights and, of course, the accursed Pilates.

However, next week, I'm supposed to begin my first fat phase, and I'm looking forward to joining the YMCA to utilize the equipment there and begin some serious training.

It is a journey of baby steps for me, but I am now seeing some changes in my body and certainly my overall stamina, strength, and improved mindset.

And although I've only lost a few pounds, it really doesn't matter that much any longer. I just wanna be my best self.

Through it all, Celeste has been patient and kind, encouraging me to extend patience and kindness to myself.

She's a great cheerleader, and I'm grateful she listens to me and my concerns.

I don't think any other coach would be so understanding.

I've had others through the years who just push push push. They got results, but they weren't long lasting for me. I think it's finally dawned on me that starving myself and pushing my body to its limits is not the way to sustain a healthy body, mind, and soul.

So thanks to Warrior Babe and coach Celeste, the program is working, and I'm happy. Thank you.
