Brandy is 46, a mom of two, and a special agent who has tried almost everything: sports, Insanity, Beachbody, a marathon, six years of CrossFit, F45 and a bikini competition at 44. The competition went well. The aftermath did not. With no reverse, she spiraled into pantry bingeing she didn't want, and she came to WarriorBabe looking for something that would last instead of another 12-week fix.
In four months with Nikkiey Stott in the VIP program she went from 148 pounds and 21% body fat to 135 pounds and 15%. Since then her weight has held steady while her calories climbed from about 1,900 to nearly 2,600, with 330 grams of carbs a day, and her body composition has kept changing. She compares photos from two years ago and today at almost the same weight and body fat and says she looks completely different.
Brandy is clear that the biggest change was her mindset. She now fits treats like Halo Top into her macros so she can celebrate with her family. She eats modified versions of the family's pizza, tacos and pot stickers most nights by planning dinner first and working backwards. And she no longer believes her metabolism slowed because she got older. In her words, it was how, what and when she was eating.
Key takeaways
- Brandy stopped banning foods and started fitting treats like chocolate, ice cream or Halo Top into her macros, and says her cravings for everything else went away.
- She eats a modified version of her family's meals five to six days a week, such as mini naan pizzas with chicken and spinach or tacos on corn tortillas.
- Plan dinner first and work backwards: she locks in dinner plus her pre- and post-workout meals, then shrinks or grows her other meals to fit.
- If a family meal is low in protein, like pot stickers and rice, add protein somewhere else in the day to balance it out.
- Planning and preparing your food ahead is what keeps you out of the pantry grabbing quick snacks that add up to the calories of a full meal.
- She learned to use a fast-acting carb after her workouts instead of oatmeal, and stopped training after going hours without eating.
- When she was raised from about 1,900 to 2,400 calories her body responded well, and her composition kept changing even though her weight barely moved.
- At nearly the same weight and body fat as two years ago, she looks completely different because the weight is distributed differently, so the scale alone doesn't tell the story.
Questions answered
Can your body keep changing if your weight stays the same?
Yes, in Brandy's experience. Her weight barely changed for two to three months while her calories went up, yet her body composition kept changing. Photos two years apart at nearly the same weight and body fat show a noticeably different shape.
What can happen after a bikini competition if you don't reverse diet?
Brandy didn't reverse after her show and went into a downward spiral, eating food she didn't want straight from the pantry. She found it mentally tough and says having a coach guide you off a competition makes a big difference.
How can I eat the same meals as my family while tracking macros?
Brandy makes a modified version of what they're eating, like chicken and spinach on her mini naan pizza or corn tortillas for tacos. She plans dinner first, keeps her pre- and post-workout meals set, and adjusts the size of her other meals to fit.
How do you get past the fear that eating more will make you gain fat?
Brandy says you have to shut off the idea that extra food is immediately stored as fat. Once your body starts responding, you start enjoying the additions. Nikkiey adds that the belief that more food means weight gain is something women have been conditioned to think.
Is a slow metabolism after 40 really why I can't lose weight?
Brandy used to blame getting older and a slow metabolism, but no longer thinks that was the problem. She says it was how, what and when she was eating. Nikkiey's message to women in their 40s and 50s is to eat right and eat enough of the right types of food.

Nikkiey: Hey everyone, welcome to our WarriorBabe interview with our veteran WarriorBabe, Brandy. Brandy has been a WarriorBabe for six months now. You started six months ago and you were at 148 pounds. You were at 21% body fat and you're 5'6". Can I share your age?
Brandy: Yes.
Nikkiey: That's right. You're 46, and you dropped down to 135 pounds, 15% body fat. Not in the six-month period, I'm sorry, in four months. And now what is interesting is you have been maintaining your weight, eating more food, yet we still see on a weekly basis that your body composition is still changing.
So far in just these short months, your transformation has been incredible. So everyone, Brandy is here today to share some pointers for you, babe, so that you can adopt her strategies for your own journey moving forward and your whole fitness journey and lifestyle. Okay. So welcome, Brandy. Excited to have you here.
Brandy: Me too.
Nikkiey: Yes. So let's just get a little background from you. I shared how old you were, but occupation, family, how long have you been in fitness, and how have fitness and this nutrition world changed your life?
Brandy: Yeah. As you said, I'm 46. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters. One is 15 and one is 11. I have been divorced, but at the beginning of this year, my boyfriend and his two sons, who are 14 and 11, moved in with me and my two girls. So it's been quite a year, along with everything else.
I am a special agent with Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, and have been for a little over 21 years now. So definitely an exciting, different lifestyle.
I have been in fitness since I was a kid, but it's changed over the years. When I was a kid, it was all about sports, and I don't think anyone ever really taught me about nutrition or anything other than that. I just played sports, didn't really lift or do any of that stuff. Back then I could eat whatever I wanted, and I was always very, very thin.
Then I went off to college and stopped that, and realized, wow, stuff kind of packs on when you start sitting down at a desk job and at school. A friend of mine got me into lifting back then, but I still wasn't doing the nutrition. And as the years progressed, I tried various things, from Insanity to, I can't even remember, another at-home one, some Beachbody one.
Then I got into CrossFit for six years. Oh wait, prior to that, I decided to train for a marathon, but didn't have any great support on the nutrition side of things or even the running side of things. I did one marathon and can easily say I'll probably never do one again. I was not properly nourished. I became what I call skinny fat back then. I looked lean, but if you touched me, I was pretty soft.
So after that, I decided I wanted to build some strength and get into something different, and went into CrossFit for over six years. I really enjoyed it because I do enjoy being with people and working out with people. But again, nutrition was kind of "eat because I'm working out." I still ate well. I have never really had a problem with overeating. I've just never really focused on macros and eating the proper things to nourish my body. And I can tell you many times when I went to CrossFit, I probably hadn't eaten for three, four hours before. Probably not a smart thing, knowing what I know now from you and learning as I go.
I got kind of tired of that. I felt like CrossFit was probably not the best thing for my body. Although you build strength, a lot of times you're just throwing weights up because you want the best time, and form starts to go and injuries start to happen. So I decided to hire a personal trainer to help me get back into weightlifting and figure stuff out. And he was great.
He helped me with the nutrition when I went through a couple of firefighter fitness challenges, and I got great results. He's the one who encouraged me to do a fitness competition. And I was like, oh no, no, never. I can't walk across a stage in heels and a bikini. Are you kidding me? There's no way. And he's like, but Brandy, you're one of the most disciplined people I know. I tell you what to do and you do it. And you ask questions like, can I eat at 11 instead of 11:30? He goes, no one ever asked me that. They just do it. But you had to have everything exact.
And I'm like, okay. So I decided to do that, and did very well for my first competition. Again, I'm very disciplined. When he told me I could take a cheat, I did. If not, I didn't even lick a spoon. I would make things for my kids and I would not take a bite. So disciplined. But the after effects were tough. I went into kind of a downward spiral and just lost control of who I was.
Like I said, I never really had a problem with eating. I ate somewhat right. But I was in the pantry 24/7, just shoving food in my mouth that I didn't want to eat. My kids would even be like, Mom, stop, what are you doing? I'd be in a ball, just in the fetal position, like, what am I doing to myself? And I didn't reverse off. I continued to work out, but wasn't eating right again.
Then my personal trainer decided to make some changes to his business, so I wasn't able to go to him as much. So I decided to try F45, which is kind of a cross between CrossFit and Orangetheory. Again, great workouts, but I was going at five in the morning, not eating before I went, lifting weights, doing stuff. I was still seeing my body change, but I was still kind of fluffy.
Then COVID hit. Oh boy, did I feel sorry for myself, staying at home and not being able to go to my gym, and I just lost control. And that's when I found you, and that brings us up to present day now. I begged you to open up some additional VIP spots.
Nikkiey: I did, because they were all booked.
Brandy: I'm like, but I'm not on social media all the time. I can't get on in 10 minutes and be one of the first few.
Nikkiey: I remember that. I remember that.
Brandy: Exactly. So you said they were full, and I'm like, what? And then you're like, okay, well, I'll open some up. And you talked to me.
And honestly, I followed you for a long time. I've watched you. I've watched your work. And I think what I like so much, or why I want to be so involved in your program, is because you're real. You're talking about a lifetime. You're not talking about the three-month fix, the four-month fix, the six-month fix, the six-week fix, which is a lot of what I've done with competitions. I'm very goal minded.
So it would take me three months, and I was strict for three months, and I did amazing and my results would be phenomenal. And then, wait, I don't have another goal anymore. So what do I do? I go back to the eating, and then I get mad at myself, and I see where I'm at again, and I'm right back where I was. Since I hit my twenties to now, I've probably only fluctuated up and down 15 pounds, except of course when I was pregnant. And the leanest I've been was at my competition weight. But for the most part, I usually ranged anywhere from 135 to 150, maybe even down to 130.
But I was tired of it. I don't want a quick fix anymore. I want something that's sustainable. I want to not have to have a goal or a competition or something to motivate me and drive me. I want to just be motivated by life. And that's where listening to you and watching you came in. I'm so thankful that my begging got you to accept me six months ago.
Nikkiey: Yes. I remember that. I dropped it in the Revolution group, or one of the groups, and I was like, VIP is open, and we booked up so quick. And then you reached out and you're like, Nikkiey, I want to be in it. I remember that.
So it's been six months now. You brought us up to present day with COVID and all the things that you've done and tried, and you were searching for that lifestyle change. So let's talk about the results you've accomplished in this period of being in the VIP. There's the physical side, but I remember talking to you at your start, and it was a big traumatic experience after that competition. Not many people share that, but it's very widespread and well known for competitors to go into that downward spiral after a competition, physically and mentally. And that's one of the reasons why you were like, I want to be in the VIP, I want to work with you directly.
Guys, I'm going to let her speak to it, but your results have been insane, not just from the physical side of things, but from the mental side. So why don't you share with us the results you did achieve and how those results are improving your life now.
Brandy: Okay. Well, as you said, it's the mindset more than the physical change. I can tell you, I knew and understood what macros were. I knew and understood how to eat appropriately. But the implementation, I would be so strict on myself, because that's all I ever really knew. When I implemented, I was strict in the sense of what I called clean carbs or clean food.
With you in this program, I've learned to be able to indulge here and there, but fit it in my macros. And those cravings for all the other bad stuff are gone. We've had probably five different birthday parties in the last six, seven weeks, and I've been able to eat the same foods they do by fitting it in my macros. Instead of having the cake and ice cream they have, I may get some Halo Top, because that's all I can fit in my macros, but I'm eating a dessert with them. So I can celebrate with my family.
I've been able to eat similar dinners to what they're eating, where in the past, I can guarantee you, when I was in competition, my food was my dinner and I had something completely different for my girls. And in the beginning of this, I followed that same path, as I told you. I was eating pretty much the same exact thing every day and not wavering. And now we're six months in, and I've been able to go to restaurants and change things on the fly, which was so difficult for me, but at the same time so rewarding when I was able to make that change and go, oh, this is all doable.
Now granted, it's not to say there's perfection when you record everything from what they give you, but at least the attempt is there to stay and think about it consciously, instead of just saying, ah, screw it, give me a big plate of nachos and this and that because you're out. But believe me, when I was getting cheat meals, I enjoyed those 100%.
But it's so interesting to see that I am eating almost 2,600 calories now, with 330 grams of carbs a day. And I'm still hungry, just so you know. I love, love, love the food.
I just recently showed you a picture, because I was talking to Marie, one of the other VIPs, and we were discussing this. I looked back to two years ago, when I started my training for my competition, and I was at 136.3 or something. And the one I just took last week, I was 136.6, almost the exact same body fat too, from the InBody scan when I first started there to the InBody scan here. And I look completely different. I was looking at my legs in comparison to the other ones, and I had more hips in the old one. To tell people that I was the exact same weight, almost exact same body fat, but it's been distributed differently.
And I think a lot of that is just learning how to feed my muscles and feed my body. My pre- and post-workouts were never like what you've taught me. Even when I was in competition, do you know that for my carb after my workout I had oatmeal? I didn't know you were supposed to have a fast-acting carb.
Nikkiey: Wow.
Brandy: So here I'm doing these workouts in the morning and putting this in, and now, from what I've learned from you, I'm thinking, well, that's not even getting into my body that quickly. So just little things like realizing that. Wow. Just the education and the understanding. I've learned great things all along the way, and then you've even improved those things.
But the biggest improvement I've had in this program is my mindset, and being able to have it: if I want a piece of chocolate, if I want some ice cream, if I want this, you work it in. And being in the Q&As and listening to other people and how they've done it. This community is more than just a community. It's truly family. I was talking to Lisa the other day, and she said it's so weird how we can love people we haven't even met, but we know each other through this community.
You reach out when someone's going through a hard time, and someone's always there for you because we understand each other. And I think I've always lacked that, because not all of my friends understand the journey you're going through, understand why you worry so much about food. To have people care or have the same goals, it's really nice.
And I don't feel like you've had to give me too much tough love. I don't think I've really missed my macros but a few times, because of some personal things, and we discussed those. But I know you're going to keep me accountable. I feel this sense of, I don't want to let you down. And I also don't want to let the community down. But I know this community, if I did, would be right here to pick me back up. I've watched it. I've seen people say, I'm having a tough time, what do I need to do? And someone's right there stepping in to say, okay, you know what to do, do it.
It's amazing what turns around, or an accountability partner. I saw that recently in the VIP. Someone needed someone to keep them accountable, and if you need that and someone can do that for you, it's so awesome. We just have such great coaches, but also people within this. I call it a family more than even a community. We really do care about each other.
So all of that has helped me grow and look at things differently. And with that, the physical results have come too. I really do put the mindset over the physical any day. In the past it was the physical before the mind. And when I did come off of the competition, I don't think I've ever been what I would call depressed in life, but I had a weird depression around food and stuff after that. I pulled myself out of it, but now I'm even that much better.
And honestly, I loved the whole experience. The 17-week journey I went through to be on stage was the most amazing feeling ever. I never felt so good about myself. I strutted my stuff like nobody. I did not care who saw me in that bikini. In fact, I was like, look at me, because I looked damn good.
Nikkiey: How old were you when you did that show?
Brandy: 44.
Nikkiey: Amazing. Amazing. Okay.
Brandy: Yeah. But then afterwards I'm like, oh gosh, no. But being with you, I've expressed to you that my girls were there, and they saw how disciplined I was, and they're so proud of me. They want me to do it again, and they want me to do it with you.
Nikkiey: That's amazing.
Brandy: They want to meet you.
Nikkiey: Oh, that is so amazing. That will be such a great experience. I would absolutely love that.
Brandy: But I also know that I still need to do the work. Like I've expressed to you, there's so much more I want to do. But mentally, you've got me to where, and I know I've done the work too, but you and your community and your people have changed my mind towards food, life, consistency, results. I'm just so happy.
Nikkiey: You're incredible. We make a really good team. I want to pull out something that you just mentioned, about being able to go out to restaurants now and swap things around. There are a lot of women that struggle with the family aspect, which you've experienced. You had to make two separate meals. Now you've learned how to make the meal and also be able to eat what they're eating. Can you speak to that a little bit? A lot of women will soak up your experience of making one big meal and eating what they're eating. How do you do that?
Brandy: For instance, they like pizzas. Well, I found these great things from Costco, the little mini naans. And I just figured out how to make it fit within my macros. Theirs may have sausage on it, which is a lot fattier, and I do chicken and spinach. They may have pepperoni and olives and all that kind of stuff, but we're all eating pizza. Mine just might be modified to be a little bit healthier. They want tacos and burritos, I'm having corn tortillas, and half the time they're looking at it like, Mom, yours looks really good. I'm like, try it. But they seem to think it's got to have all the sour cream on it, everything with it.
They've commented so much on me being able to eat with them. It's weird to think that what I ate was so important to them. Honestly, I had chicken nuggets and fries with them the other day. We baked them, and I had less than they did, but I fit it in my macros. Pot stickers and rice, a quick meal, but I'm able to have five of the pot stickers, some white rice and even a little bit of butter, because I needed some extra fat. They might've had soy sauce and some other sauces, but we all figure out ways to eat pretty much the same things.
There are a few meals where I'm like, yeah, I'm not even going to try that one, and I'll have a different one. But for the most part, five to six of the days I'm eating the same meal as them, just modified. I would have never thought this before, but you can find ways to have something within there.
I just have to adjust what I have earlier and work backwards from what we're going to plan for dinner. I know I need my pre- and post-workout, so those are three that are definitely going to be done. Then how do I modify my other meals? I like a lot of my other meals, so I may just have to reduce the size of them, or sometimes increase them. Actually, with the pot stickers and rice I found, oh shoot, that doesn't have as much protein, so I had to add a little protein somewhere else.
It's kind of a game in MyFitnessPal, to find those zeros and balance out and get close. And you know how you say we can go plus or minus five? I'm probably usually right at the zero, because I have to be.
Nikkiey: Oh my God. You know what? It honestly does not surprise me, knowing you. That's pretty f***ing incredible, to hit the zeros across the way.
Brandy: Oh, got to take one gram off here. Keep going back and looking, one gram. Okay, so I may take it to the extreme, but I still enjoy my food. It's a mental thing. As you know, I'm very much a numbers person and analytical, and that helps me. But again, I'm feeling so good that I can finally have things I enjoy. The pizzas are super yummy. I enjoy my four little mini tacos at night. You just make it good.
But the basic thing I'd say is planning. Honestly, everything about eating appropriately, as I tell so many of my friends and family, is preparing and planning. Because when you don't, it is so easy to go into that pantry and just grab crap because it's easy, it's fast, it's quick. And the next thing you know, you've had three of these, and you could have had a big meal that was the same calories and so much more fulfilling than the little snack you just grabbed from the pantry.
But don't get me wrong, I still have cravings. I'll tell you when, Nikkiey, I'm starting to want to go in the pantry and raid it. But it is a good feeling with family to be able to sit with them.
Nikkiey: The key thing is to plan ahead, for sure. Like you're saying, a key thing is to plan ahead. Now, you mentioned a little bit ago how much food you're eating: 330 grams of carbs, almost 2,600 calories. How do you deal with that? I know you've come from competition dieting and different methods before you got to WarriorBabe. How do you deal with the psychological side of eating more food in order to get where you are now, building muscle?
Brandy: It's not hard at all for me. I want to get up to Cheryl's 435, and I know you're going to be talking to her. I'm jealous. I want more food. I'm looking every Saturday going, is she going to give me more? She got so happy when she gave me 30 more grams last week.
Honestly, the scale to me, I have always known that muscle weighs more than fat, and that I can stand next to another 135-pound woman and look completely different, and they could even look leaner than me. So I've always understood that. But I've noticed that with my body, more food does some amazing things.
We had that one stage when I came to you and said, Nikkiey, my body on Wednesday is saying, I'm going to hold all this food because you're not feeding me enough. And sure enough, I think we were at about 1,900 calories, and you bumped me up to 2,400, and my body just responded so well. I haven't changed much in weight in the last two or even three months, but my body has changed.
And to see that I can eat more and enjoy food and my body responds and I'm not packing on the pounds. I used to always say, oh, I'm getting older, my metabolism's really slow, that's the problem. I don't think that's a problem anymore. It was how I was eating. It was what I was eating. It was the times I was eating.
When I was in competitions, man, I drank my water, I had my six meals, I worked out like I was supposed to. But when that would be over and I didn't have anything, I wouldn't drink the water. I'd go back to just having my tea, so you retain more water. I would go back to maybe three meals a day, spacing them out, and then I wondered why I wasn't hungry. Well, my body was like, I'm going to hold on to everything because you're not going to feed me every couple hours like you were.
So it's not hard for me, because I just love food. I'm honestly ready for more. But I know for some it's really hard getting it in. I think once your body starts responding, you allow your mind to move away from how much food it is. I never really did the thousand calories. My body couldn't survive. The lowest I was is 1,500, 1,600, even during training. He rarely got me below even 1,200, because my body responded to more food.
For those women who were used to not having anything, I get that it's hard. But if you let your mind and your body use it, you'll start enjoying those additions and figuring out, oh, this is actually good. Watch this go to the muscles in my thighs. I think we have to shut our minds off and say, this isn't just going to get immediately stored as fat. Because that's how I used to think too: the more food I ate, the more fat I'd be. But I don't think that way.
Nikkiey: Yeah. It's incredible. It's a great mentality that you've formulated for yourself. And you can speak to so many women who think that more food is going to make them gain weight. That's just the way people have been conditioned to think through the years.
Brandy: When I think of things out there, I look at my job. Unfortunately, I've investigated a lot of cases where people believe they can give someone a hundred dollars and in 16 months they'll get $16,000, and they invest millions of dollars. Of course it's a Ponzi scheme, a pyramid scheme, and it goes down. Well, it's the same kind of thing. You can invest three months of your life and get a result, but if you don't continue to invest in your life, it's going to go away.
There's no quick fix. Whether it be money, fitness or weight, we all want that quick fix. It might be there for the short term, but then it's gone. And that's what I love about you and your program. You're not telling us we're going to get results in two weeks, six weeks, three months. You're going to get some results, but not the instant results you're asking for.
Marie and I were talking about where we've come in six months, and where we'll be in another six months. Looking at you five years ago, looking at Madeline and what she posted from four years ago, it's amazing to see what you can do to your body when you stay consistent and you continue to feed your body.
Nikkiey: 100%. Yeah. That's exactly what I was talking to Jen about this morning. If you haven't watched Jen's interview, it will also be released when this releases. I said to her, you've accomplished in a year and six months what many women try to accomplish in four, five, six years.
Same boat for you. You've been on the journey, you've done a competition, and mentally you've now accomplished in a six-month period what many women struggle with for four years. Which is freaking incredible, because you're turning it into a lifestyle. You realized that the habits you were doing before weren't serving you in the way you want to think around food, be with the family and have treats.
You had to recondition your mind and formulate new habits by being thrown in the trenches inside a restaurant and having to readjust everything. And afterwards you were like, oh, it's really not that bad, I just had to adjust it. So now you've experienced that and built an experience around it, and next time you go and do it, it's not going to be that bad. It's incredible what you've done in the past couple of months, mentally and physically.
So you were talking about joining here and being a part of the community, and Marie, and six months. How did you first hear about WarriorBabe? What piqued your interest the most about it?
Brandy: You. I got on Facebook only about two years ago. Social media has always been a struggle of mine. I've feared it because of my job. But when I was single, I was like, oh, I should probably get out there and find some people. And somehow you came up in my feed. I still remember the first one I ever watched. You were on a whiteboard writing stuff about macros. And I'm like, yeah, makes sense. I need to figure out my body type. I watched some of your little preliminary videos. I watched you through Bali. You just intrigued me.
Your personality, you're real. Like I said, you were never trying to sell a short term. You were talking about life. My competition was a year and a half ago, so it was shortly before my competition that I got on social media, and when I was struggling the most with food after it, I really started following you, listening to you, watching you. It's truly you. You are what drew me to it.
I looked back at some of your posts from when you did your competition and became a pro, well, three-time pro, the latest one two years ago. I saw those photos and then looked at you now and went, she still looks amazing. And I remember I came off and went from looking amazing to, really quick, not. Within the community, I've watched you train others and seen how they came off. It's amazing to see the difference when you have someone there to guide you through and teach you the appropriate way to come off and reverse and all that.
So Facebook and you. It's weird how Facebook works. You can say a word over and over again and then it pops up. Somehow you were talking about what I'd been wanting to find, and you came up. So Facebook knew I needed to meet you.
Nikkiey: What made you pull the trigger to joining?
Brandy: Well, honestly, I did join your Blueprint first, because you had a Black Friday special. I mostly did it just to get the calculators, because as you know, I'm not a big fan of reading. I'd much rather just be told what to do on certain things in life than have to read up on it, because you're the expert. I think I talked to you once before I had surgery, and you told me to stay on my macros, and then I just let it go and didn't really go back into it.
Then COVID hit. I got back into it, recalculated my macros and bought your at-home workout, because I'm like, I've got to do something. I was feeling sorry for myself. So many things had hit. We'd got two brand new puppies. There were just so many life changes. And I'm like, you're done feeling sorry for yourself. Get your ass back in there, excuse my language, and figure this out.
I think I talked to you one or two more times once I was getting back into your six-week program, and then the VIP thing came out. And that's when I'm like, this is what I need. For some people, I think the Blueprint is probably amazing. You have so many different programs, and I think there's a fit for everybody. But I knew this was my fit.
I am good at following. If I trust and believe in somebody, which I trust and believe in you and your process, I will follow it. But if I have to figure it out on my own, I'm not so great at that. I'll do okay, but I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't joined the VIP portion of your program. I don't think, mentally and with who I am, I would have gotten as much out of the Blueprint program as I did with the VIP program. Not because of your program, but because of me. I know my limitations with sitting down and watching videos. It's all great stuff, and I did listen to a few, but then life gets in the way. So this is why I'm here: you.
Nikkiey: Thank you, Brandy. It's been a pleasure being your coach, because you are fire. Describe to me being a WarriorBabe. What does that mean to you?
Brandy: Again, back to what I said earlier, it means being part of something bigger. That bigger being the community, the family. We're all in this together. We're women who have like minds and want to be healthy and fit for our families, for our friends, for ourselves, and to be kind of a guide to others.
I preach your program to anyone who sees me and says, oh my gosh, you're looking amazing. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm eating so much. And they're like, what? I truly believe in you. I truly believe in your program. I truly believe in this family, this unit, and the support that comes with it. You wish that everyone around you could be like that. But as we've talked about numerous times, there are so many negative people and haters out there.
Most of them are that way because they're jealous that they can't apply themselves. They're not dedicated enough. They're not disciplined enough to say, no, I'm going to take control of my life. Because you know what? We're better people when we get our workout in and when we eat appropriately. When I was working out but wasn't eating right, I was cranky. I was upset, because you still don't feel good and you don't think right.
So being part of this community has changed my life in how I see things and what I see in the future for myself. And I hope to be a part of this community for many years to come.
Nikkiey: So incredible. You're awesome. Now, like you said, you've recommended a lot of people to the program. So for whoever's listening to this interview right now, why should somebody take action right now to join WarriorBabe?
Brandy: I think we always say in life, oh, I'll start tomorrow, I'll start the next day, and you never do. So you need to just start right now, because you won't regret it. It's a lifestyle change, but you have to come in with the mindset of knowing you're not teaching people how to change themselves in six weeks and just be done. You're not done. We are constantly a work in progress. Within this community, we all know that it's not over. It's always happening. So make that change for the rest of your life. I foresee so much better of a future for me, with food, with life, than I ever did before.
Nikkiey: You're incredible. I love you, Brandy. So let's give a close-out to everybody that's listening. Tell us your favorite snack or macro combo.
Brandy: Well, you got to see me eat it the other day. Honestly, my favorite is brown rice with turkey burger seasoned with taco seasoning, salsa and avocado. It's warm, and I always love a warm dish. It's so fulfilling. It's spicy, it's flavorful, and I have it every day. The few days when I can't have it are usually when I go to my kids' softball and I'm out for the whole day, and I don't have a microwave to heat it up. But I find other things. That's by far my favorite meal.
Nikkiey: Sounds delicious. You'll have to send a screenshot of it if you're having it today, and I'll put a little picture in here for everyone. And tell us your favorite muscle group to work out.
Brandy: I'm not sure I had one before, but as I told you last week, shoulders. Tomorrow's workout is only my second one, because this is the second week of this program, but it's amazing. And it's something I've told you I need to work on. I know that if I do want to compete again, I need those shoulder caps and that V. It's amazing what you can do to your shoulders with such little weight, and the feeling you can have, that burn and that sensation. And then looking and going, oh, I've got a little roundness going on there. So I would have to say shoulders right now are by far my favorite.
Nikkiey: Nice. Great muscle group. I definitely agree with you on that one. Well, Brandy, thank you so much, babe. This is going to help so many women, especially the mentality shift you've had in the six months you've been a part of the VIP program. It's been such a mental change and physical change. You're eating so much more food, your body composition is still changing, and your body just loves food.
And what you said too, that along your journey you thought you were just getting older and your metabolism was slowing down: let that be a tribute to everyone listening right now who's in their forties, later forties, going into their fifties. You just have to eat right and eat enough of the right types of food.
For those of you who want to learn more about the programs WarriorBabe offers and how to get started, you can go to warriorbabe.com and become a part of it like Brandy is, and join the community she talked about: thousands of women who are getting toned and becoming stronger, more confident versions of themselves. Brandy, thank you, babe, for your time today. You are such an inspiration to so many women who are going to be listening to this interview.
Brandy: Thank you.
Nikkiey: All right. Bye everybody.
Brandy: Bye.
