You started strong, the scale moved, you felt great, and then somewhere around month three or four the workouts slipped and the eating loosened up. In this live rally call, Nikkiey Stott calls it the false concept of success. Once your mind decides you've done good, it starts rewarding itself and stops doing the very things that got you results.
Nikkiey shares how this happened to her after a 30-week transformation. She hit her goal, assumed her body would stay there, ate whatever she wanted, and regained about 10 pounds in under a week. Using a member's comment about losing 12 pounds and then stalling, she shows how this pattern drives the yo-yo cycle so many women over 40 know too well.
The fix is awareness and direction. Identify the triggers that pull you backwards, whether that's weekends, no food prepped or plans you didn't prepare for, and fix them for next time. When you hit a goal, celebrate once, then set a bigger one. Nikkiey also shares a simple Sunday habit: name your win from last week and your intention for the week ahead.
Key takeaways
- Recognize the false concept of success: when your mind feels satisfied with your progress, it starts rewarding itself and stops doing what got you results.
- Figure out where your subconscious tells you it's okay to stop pushing, so you can catch the pattern consciously when it shows up again.
- If you do well Monday to Friday and fall off on weekends, pinpoint the trigger, such as no food in the house, junk food at home, unplanned nights out or meal prep running out, and fix it before next time.
- When you hit a goal, set a new one right away, such as another 10 pounds or a body fat target, because losing focus on your goals means you stop taking action.
- Celebrate a win once, then use that moment to feel grateful for the work you did and ask yourself what's next.
- Expect to fail forward: like a child learning to walk, it may take many slips before the pattern clicks, and it gets easier each time.
- Every Sunday, name your win from the past week and your intention for the coming week, and notice where you need support.
- Beating yourself up with negative self-talk won't produce results, so celebrate what you have already done.
Questions answered
Why do I fall off track after losing my first 10 pounds?
Nikkiey explains that once your mind feels it has done good, it starts rewarding itself by eating whatever it wants and taking it easy. It stops doing what got you there in the first place, which stalls progress or sends you backwards.
What should I do after I reach my weight loss goal?
Celebrate once, be grateful for the work you put in, then set a new goal right away. Nikkiey suggests making it bigger, like another 10 pounds or a body fat goal, so you have something driving you forward.
How do I stop falling off my diet every weekend?
Identify exactly what trips you up, such as having no food in the house, junk food at home, plans with friends you didn't prepare for, or meal prep running out. Then fix that trigger before the next weekend.
Will I break the habit of falling off track right away?
No. Nikkiey says it won't happen overnight, and you may fail many times before it clicks. Keep identifying your patterns and failing forward, and it gets easier each time.
What is a simple weekly habit to stay focused on my fitness goals?
On Sunday, write down your win from the past week and your intention for the week ahead. Nikkiey says this also shows you what tripped you up and where you need support.

Nikkiey: What's up, everybody? Hey, WarriorBabes. I'm coming live to you right now for our rally call because I was just trying to log into the call service and it's not working. We'll figure out how to get that working for the next rally call. So I decided to go live and do the rally call here with you. I'm super excited.
Welcome, babes, to our Sunday WarriorBabe Revolution rally call. I'm excited to be here with you. Since we're doing this live in the Facebook group, as you're joining, say hey so I can see who's here.
Before we dive into our rally call topic, I want to give a huge welcome to all of the new WarriorBabes who came in this week. To all of you new babes who have joined us, you are now part of a community of thousands of women who are getting toned and becoming stronger, more confident versions of themselves. I'm so excited that you're here and part of our community. It is one of the best, and I'm not just being biased about that. It is a very empowering, supportive, inspiring community, and I love everybody's support inside, helping everybody out.
I absolutely love all of the most recent testimonial photos. You are absolutely killing it. Who posted this morning? It was Melissa and Rachel. Holy moly. Talk about transformations and progress. That is amazing. I am so proud of you.
So again, we're doing our rally call live today since I tried dialing into the phone and it wasn't working, which is totally cool. I'm excited to do this live with you. Welcome to all the new WarriorBabes. You are now inside a community where strong is the new sexy.
Let's get into today's topic. What I was going to talk to you about on the phone, I'm going to talk about here. It stems from one of the babes' comments inside the group earlier this week. Let me pull up the picture on my phone. Here it is. It's Kimberly's comment from earlier this week.
Today's topic is the false concept of success. When Kimberly posted this, I thought, oh my God, I have to talk about this inside the community for our rally call this weekend. She posted: "I started my journey here off so strong. I was seeing great results, feeling great, lost 12 pounds. Then somewhere between month three and four, I started to slowly fall off the regime and working out."
Hi, guys. I'm going to try to stay focused right now, because this is why I usually can't do live rally calls. I see all the comments coming in and I get super sidetracked. But I'm going to stay focused on our topic today, which is the false concept of success, and it was inspired by Kimberly's comment inside the community.
So she was seeing great results. She was starting off super strong. Then somewhere between month three and four, she started to slowly fall off the regime and working out. "I've been eating okay, not completely horrible. I'm still at a 12-pound loss. But I know if I don't get back to the workouts, it's all going to come back." And she asked in her comment, has anybody else experienced a slump where they stopped working out? That's where today's topic was inspired from: this false concept of success.
I think I've talked about it before, but I want to elaborate more because I feel like a lot of people go through this. Give me a hands up or a check mark or an emoji or say yes if this is you. You start off super strong, and then maybe the weekend comes, Saturday and Sunday, and you fall off track. Then Monday it's, okay, back on, I'm going to start hitting my macros, I'm going to focus on my workouts. And then the next weekend comes and it falls off.
Or like Kimberly experienced. Yeah, Angie, two, three, four months in. They feel like they've had great success, and that's where they completely fall off track. What's happening here is that it's our mind that gets in the way, thinking, okay, we've had great success here, now I can ease off. I can reward myself.
I personally went through this when I first started my journey. After 30 weeks of going through this drastic transformation, completely changing my body composition, I met my goal. And afterwards I thought, oh, okay, my body will stay here. It's going to stay here forever. I don't have to worry about it. I'm good. I don't need to make any changes. It's going to stay right where I'm at.
And boy, did I learn the hard way. As soon as I hit my goal, I went into this mode of, I can eat whatever I want. I don't have to work out as hard as I was working out, and I'm still going to be good. I don't know where this was coming from. And that week was terrible. I gained back about 10 pounds. When I ate, I ate hard, and I gained back so much weight in just one week. I was uncomfortable in my body again. Everything I had just worked for in the past 30 weeks had been completely erased in six days. And I'm like, what the fuck?
So what's really going on here, you guys, is the false concept of success. When the idea of doing good is satisfied, our mind shifts and begins doing things like rewarding itself. Once you think you've done good, and you may not even realize this is happening. I didn't realize it was happening until after I'd gone through it, and I'm like, what the hell just happened?
It's because of this idea in my head that I was doing good. Kimberly was losing 12 pounds. So the mind was satisfied, and therefore it started to reward itself by eating whatever you wanted, by taking it easy, by taking a bit of a break. It stops doing what got you there in the first place.
That's the false concept of success: the false idea that just because Kimberly reached a 12-pound loss or I reached my goal, we had reached a particular place. That's where it started driving me in the other direction, and it was halting my progress. Kimberly hadn't gained it back, but it was still halting her progress of moving forward.
I've talked about this before. It's where you hit this low point and you're like, oh my God. Kimberly was starting to hit it, where she was saying she knows that if she doesn't get back into the groove of things, it's all going to come back on. She was getting really close to her lowest point, the point where we all drive ourselves to create change, to create action that's going to work our way back up to where we want to be, or work our way toward a goal we want to accomplish.
This is the most important part of what I'm sharing with you today: identifying where you find yourself meeting this false concept of success. Identifying the patterns you fall into.
If you can figure out where you meet this, like Kimberly did, that's huge. Her figuring it out, that comment she shared inside the group, is probably hands down one of the most important things she could have done, because she's saying, okay, I know I'm here. I know I've had great success, but I'm now stalling because I'm not eating right, my workouts are suffering and I'm losing my mojo. I'm losing my motivation. That's a good identifier of where this pattern is emerging.
So if you can figure out where your subconscious mind tells you it's okay to stop pushing forward, and be consciously aware of those patterns, that's really important. Because when you meet that pattern, that "okay, it's okay to stop pushing," and you're consciously aware of it, you'll feel and know that this pattern is starting to emerge, and you can break through it.
For example, if you're one of those people who does really well Monday to Friday and falls off Saturday and Sunday, then Monday you're like, okay, I've got to push it this week, I'm going to do really good. And you do really good. Then Friday comes around. What trips you up? What stops you? What gets in the way? What stops you from finding the motivation to push through? What triggers you?
Is it that you don't have enough food in your home? Is it that you have junk food in your home? Is it that you have plans to go out with your friends and you just didn't plan well? Is it that your meal prep is done and you need to meal prep again? What is it that trips you up that you can fix next time, or that you can get ahead of next time? Whenever you feel those triggers or patterns coming, it's, okay, this is what happened last time I experienced this. What can I change right now to keep me moving forward, so I don't slip up like I did last time?
So that's really easy for the people who do well Monday through Friday and fall off Saturday and Sunday. What are the triggers that stop you, and how can you fix them moving forward?
Then for the ones who go three, four months and then stop seeing progress, it's because you've lost focus of why you're here. You've lost focus of the goals you're here to accomplish, because you've lost 10-plus pounds. Kimberly lost 10-plus pounds, and to her, that was probably her goal. That's where she thought, oh, okay, I can reward myself, I don't have to work and push as hard. But no, you can't do that, because then you're going to trickle down into, okay, I'm going to start gaining everything back.
When you meet that mark where you hit your goal, babes, it's time to refocus on a new goal, because we're all goal-oriented people. Goals are set in place to surprise ourselves into the person we want to become, to surprise ourselves with what we can actually accomplish and succeed in, and to surprise ourselves with what we can do.
So Kimberly hit this goal of 12 pounds, and then it's, oh, okay, I don't need to focus, I can just settle. We don't settle here. So now it's time for Kimberly to set that new goal: okay, I hit 10 pounds, let's go for another 10 pounds. Let's make it a 20-pound marker, or let's focus on something else. What are the goals you want to accomplish?
I can't harp on this enough. If you lose focus on the goals you want to accomplish, you're not going to execute. You're not going to take action, and you're going to fall into just going through the motions every single day. So it's really important to focus or refocus on the goals you're here to accomplish: getting more toned, becoming the stronger, more confident version of yourself.
And if you hit them, make them bigger, make them stronger, make them bold. Set your standards high, babes. Always set your standards high. Because once you identify these patterns, you can break through them and always continue to aim high for yourself. If you lost 10 pounds and find yourself slowly trickling down or going backwards, focus on aiming forward to get to where you want to be.
A lot of people do this. How many of you have hit your goals, and maybe this is the reason you're here as part of WarriorBabe? You hit your goal, then you start eating whatever you want, and three months later you're like, what the fuck just happened? You've gained back all of your weight plus some, and now you're trying to get back to the starting point of losing the weight you just put back on. It's this endless vicious cycle of yo-yoing back and forth.
Wow, I have a lot of hands up. How many of you do that, or have done that? Well, guys, this is when it stops. Because if you can hear me out, what's going on mentally is this false idea that you've reached a particular point, and then you basically revert backwards. A lot of people revert backwards. Nobody ever moves forward. But we WarriorBabes are the ones who always continue to move forward, because we're always refocusing and setting new goals for ourselves. We're always aiming high. We're always reaching a new point of a high standard, reaching where we didn't think we could go.
I'm probably going all over the place, but I hope my point is being made.
"This is where I am exactly." Really? Yeah. It sucks, you guys.
But now, really the most important thing you can identify is what trips you up, what triggers you to move backwards. You can tell what those emotions are because they're usually negative and they usually don't make you feel good. But a lot of people do it because that's all they know. All they know is backwards. They're reverting to old habits. People who have hit a goal or reached this mark go back to eating how they always used to eat, because that's all they know.
So you can't do what you don't know. Actually, that's not true. You can do what you don't know, because you actually have to do it. But the main thing is to refocus and regain your goals and what you're here to accomplish.
"This makes so much sense. It's like an aha moment." Yes, I love it. Good. That's what I'm here to do. In my head it's making sense, but my words are jumbling, so I'm happy it's making sense. Because it is.
I catch myself too. And look, guys, it's not going to happen overnight. Don't expect to wake up and be like, I've got it. It's not going to be like that. You have to keep identifying these patterns each time and make forward progress.
I always say this: you're going to fail forward. If you fail and then give up, you're not a WarriorBabe. If you fail forward, you are a WarriorBabe. It's going to happen, and it might happen 10 times before it actually clicks. Think about how many times it takes a kid to learn to walk. How many failures and falls and bumps and bruises and cries it takes. This is the same exact thing. We're just grownups, and we're still learning.
"I've had several injuries that threw me off my groove." "I don't meal plan for the weekend." Yeah, guys, throw it in. What triggers you? What stops you? Is it the meal prepping? Is it that you don't plan accordingly? "I don't meal plan for the weekend and it's a big shit show." Simple fix. Exactly.
It's the small things, but they can turn out to be the biggest things, because they move you backwards. They move you away from your goals. So identify your triggers. Especially if you're the Monday-through-Friday person who falls off on the weekend, what is it that trips you up, and how can you make that better next time? If you fail, you fail, but make it better next time.
Or if you're the two-to-three-month person and you lose the motivation, you lose the focus, refocus. Whenever I think "great success," I think of Borat in the movie. When you've had that great success, you've hit the three-to-four-month mark, you've had amazing progress and you've hit your goal, that's where the false concept of success comes in. You've had success, but it's a false concept of success because your mind will grab hold of rewarding you with whatever you want.
Now, you can reward yourself, but then it's time to refocus. Here's a perfect way to do it. You hit your goal, and you have one celebration. And in that celebration, where you're mindless, out with friends celebrating, with your husband celebrating, with the kids celebrating, it's a mindless action. In that mindless moment, you can regather and refocus on the gratitude you have for yourself for kicking ass for those three months and getting to your goal. Then refocus: okay, what's next?
Always strive for what's next. Never stay complacent. We WarriorBabes never stay complacent. We are not okay in comfort zones, because in comfort zones you won't grow. So in that moment of hitting a goal, what's your next goal? Ten more pounds? Five percent body fat? What is it? What's next? Always focus on what's next, because that's what's going to drive you forward. That's going to give you the motivation. It's, all right, celebration. Okay, let's get back to it. Awesome, babes. I love it.
This has been a hell of an awesome rally call. Focus on understanding your own patterns, and understand that just because you win doesn't mean you can't win bigger. Set high standards for yourself, your health, your goals and your fitness, and always strive for the toned shape you want, to gain the muscle you want, to be the strongest, most confident version of yourself. That is what you're here to do inside WarriorBabe, and I'm here to help you.
And I'm here to call you out if I see excuses and bullshit comments. If I see that, I will call you out, because you need that tough love. I have a gloves-off approach to coaching. You need that tough love in order to succeed, to get where you want to be, and to get you out of your comfort zone and striving for the next best version of yourself.
"Get that toned body that you want. And celebrate what you do." Yeah, exactly. You sit down, you celebrate, you be proud of where you are. Guys, if you're waking up every single day with negative chatter inside your head and you're beating yourself up, remember that you can't hate yourself into the results. You have to love yourself now. So celebrate what you have done. Celebrate your wins.
Inside my VIP call, we go through our wins right off the bat: what were your wins this past week? And we close out every call with: what's your intention moving forward? What's your intention to focus on this week that's going to drive you to your goals?
Take that for yourselves. Sunday should be a day of refocusing and moving into a new week. I always start my weeks on Monday. So on Sundays: what's your win from last week, and what's your intention for the goals you're working toward next week? Do that for yourselves, and I guarantee it's going to be a game changer. You'll also identify where you need support. What tripped you up this past week? That's you identifying certain things for yourself and realizing what you need to focus on.
All right. Now I feel like I'm just mumbling and jumbling, so I'm going to wrap up our rally call, but I hope that made a lot of sense. I'm glad Angela had an aha moment. That's awesome. And I'm glad this spoke to a lot of you babes. I feel like we all go through this, and we always will. But each time it's going to get easier and easier.
So remember your patterns. Remember the false concept of success. And remember, if you hit a goal, set a new goal. Goals are so important.
All right, babes, it's Sunday. What are you going to do this week that's going to push you toward the goals you're here to accomplish? When it comes into your mind, do it.
I love you, babes. Have an awesome day, an awesome week, and kick ass. I'll see you on Wednesday for our Q&A call. Bye, everyone.
