Melissa Richmond

Hi. My name is Melissa Richmond. I'm forty three.
I am an enrollment advisor at WarriorBabe, and, I'm a mom of two and a wife.
And, you know, one of the things when I started Warrior Babe or the reason I I started working with a coach was because at this point in my life, I've really decided that it was time to start focusing on myself. My kids are pretty much grown for the most part, and so my role as a mom shifted into where I can look more at me and what the next forty years are gonna look like.
And to be honest, when I looked at myself, I wasn't really happy with where I was, because I wasn't setting myself up for success for the next forty years. Meaning, I wasn't prioritizing my health and fitness. It had been about a year and a half since I've really done anything, even though I knew I should. I have on both sides of my family, Alzheimer's on one and autoimmune disorders on the other. So intellectually, I know that I have to prioritize my health and fitness because both grandmothers passed away from these terrible diseases, like, in their sixties, which is not that far off for me.
So that's why I decided to work with a coach because every time I thought of that, the thought of starting was just so overwhelming that I would continue to put it off. And so once I started working with coach Lauren, she was able to take that piece away from me and just give me a way to start.
And it wasn't I'm not gonna say it was necessarily easy, but it's simple. And she helped me to find a way to start that made sense for me in a way that start to start that fit into my life. And she's continued to show me over these four months that, you know, it doesn't have to be perfect. It's not gonna be.
And that as long as I continue to give myself grace and continue to just keep moving forward, I'm doing way better than I was a year ago.
So, she's really given me the confidence to know that I can make lasting changes in my life and in my health, and it's directly within my control, a lot of it, because, you know, she's teaching me how to properly nourish my body, how to be strong.
And I know the physical will come from that.
But right now, I'm just really staying in the thought of what I'm doing is setting me up for long term success.
I want my next forty years to look completely different than my grandmother's.
I want it to be better. And so, I feel like she's teaching me the tools and the way to control that. And so that's very empowering for me. That gives me confidence to be able to teach that to my children as well, my daughter, my son, so that they have that confidence too and they don't have to struggle like a lot of people do.
And it it's also been great though too that I'm seeing physical improvements like, you know, I'm I'm wearing shorts and feeling very confident in those again. And, you know, even, like, you know, my husband comments on, you know, how how much more confidence I seem to be carrying myself with. You know, holding my shoulders back and holding my chest up higher.
And all that just comes from the fact that I know I'm doing good things for me, and it makes me feel good about the outcome and and and the years to come and what those will look like. So that's really how Warrior Babe has changed my life.
And and, you know, looking forward to the next chapter and what that's gonna look like and just being in the best shape and health, that I can be for the next forty or fifty years, however long the Lord allows me to live. Thanks.
