There are two of you. One wants to reach her goals. The other is stuck in the comfort zone, scared, and listening to what everyone else thinks. In this WarriorBabe Rally Call, Nikkiey Stott walks through one of her favorite mindset concepts: higher self vs current self. She explains why the question is no longer who you are right now, but who you are becoming.
Nikkiey breaks down how the I am statements you repeat, like I am overweight or I can't do this, harden into what feels like fact even when they aren't true. Those beliefs drive your actions, your actions drive your results, and your results feed back into the same beliefs. She reads from Psycho-Cybernetics on self-image and on why measuring yourself by other people's standards keeps you stuck.
Then she gets practical. Break your old identity by doing the things your current self avoids. Build a clear picture of the body you want, feel what it's like to have reached it, and think from that woman. When a choice comes up, like one drink that turns into five, ask what she would do. Nikkiey shares that this is exactly what she did during her own 31-week transformation, before she even knew it was a strategy.
Key takeaways
- Stop asking who you are right now and start asking yourself daily who you are becoming.
- Pay attention to your I am statements, because repeated assumptions about yourself harden into what feels like fact, even when they're false.
- Your beliefs drive your actions, your actions create results, and those results feed back into your beliefs, so changing the belief changes the whole loop.
- Stop measuring yourself by other people's standards and beliefs, and take a little time each day to check in with yourself about how you're doing and whether you're working toward your goals.
- Break your current identity by doing what it avoids: eat the vegetables, do the workout, count the macros, and become the planner you say you aren't.
- Create a clear mental image of the body and life you want, using Instagram or other pictures for inspiration if you don't have one yet.
- Think from that future version of you by asking what she does, like meal prepping, hitting her macros and working out, and start doing those things now.
- When a decision comes up, like a drink with friends, ask how your higher self would respond and act on that answer.
Questions answered
What is higher self vs current self?
Nikkiey describes two yous inside you: one that wants to accomplish goals, and one stuck in the comfort zone who is scared and listens to what other people say. Your current self is tied to the results you have now, while your higher self is who you are becoming, and she says to lean toward the one that believes in you.
How do my beliefs affect my fitness results?
Nikkiey explains that beliefs lead to actions, actions lead to results, and results give you feedback that circles back to your beliefs. If you believe you're overweight and can't change, you don't eat well or exercise, so you get more overweight. If you believe you can, you take action that supports that belief.
How do I break out of my old identity?
Do the things your current self naturally wouldn't. If you don't like vegetables, eat vegetables. If you don't like working out, work out. If you don't like counting macros, start counting them, and if you say you're a terrible planner, start planning.
What does it mean to think from your future self?
It means picturing the woman with the body and goals you want, then asking what she does and how she would respond in each moment. Nikkiey used to ask whether that version of her would have the drink with friends, knowing one would probably turn into five, and she'd skip it.
What book does Nikkiey recommend for self-image?
She reads from Psycho-Cybernetics, which describes your self-image as your picture of yourself and your value judgment about yourself, and warns against reshaping yourself so often to please others that you lose track of who you are.

Nikkiey: What's up, WarriorBabe? Hey, everybody. Nikkiey here, and welcome to our Sunday, an instrumental Sunday that, holy moly, who's going to win? But welcome, welcome, guys, to our WarriorBabe Revolution Rally Call. I'm excited to be here. I'm excited to chat with you guys today.
I have a really good in-depth mindset topic that I want to share with you. It's one of my favorites. I've talked about it before, but I'm going to talk about it again to just drill it home, because honestly, I'm dealing with it too right now, and whenever I'm going through whatever I'm dealing with, I always share it with you guys as well. I always want to open that up and be vulnerable with everybody. So here we go.
First of all, before we get started, guys, go into the Facebook group. Let the other babes know that this rally call is getting started. Let them know that they want to tune in. It's probably going to be more of a light-bulb-going-off-in-their-minds kind of day, or your mind kind of day. So it's going to be a really good topic. I'm really excited to chat with you guys about it.
And if you guys are new, we've had a lot of new WarriorBabes over the past couple weeks. So welcome, babes. If you guys are new, I'm excited for you to tune in to your first rally call. These calls are made to light you up with some motivation, made to get you ready for the week ahead, made to dive into mindset, dive into workouts, or macros. Mindset or macros is really what I talk about on these rally calls. So if you guys are new, make sure you tune in to these calls every single Sunday. They're at 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
So set your alarm. Make sure you're here. Don't miss them. You want to really immerse yourself inside of what I'm sharing with you and eliminate anything you've ever done before or tried before. And know that the tools and resources that we are providing you work 100%. They've helped thousands of women, a thousand plus now. So eliminate anything you've tried before and know that you can do this. Because that's the most important thing. I'm going to talk about that today: knowing that you can do this.
Even if you've had failures in the past, even if things have not worked, these tools and resources are here to help you. So remember to tune in to these calls. Remember to immerse yourself in the WarriorBabe lifestyle. It's going to help you to come to these and to come to the Q&As whenever you feel like everything outside of you is falling apart and results aren't happening. You're going to be able to tune in to these kinds of calls and feel the motivation to continue to move forward. So we'll get started in just a few seconds. Go let the groups know that we're getting started.
Have them tune in to this if they aren't already. And before we get started, I want to let you guys know that the workouts are updated. I know that Kate let you guys know on Friday that they were updated. So Godspeed to you all this month with a new workout program. I'm excited for you guys to get into it. And our first week inside the community is going to be like, wow, I'm so freaking sore. Wow, Nikkiey, what are you doing to us? I love it. I love seeing that. So this week, make sure that you share your experience with these workouts.
Okay, so let's dive into this topic. I really just want to get this started because it's honestly one of my favorite things to talk about, one of my favorite things to share. It creates mental shifts in a lot of people that I share this with. And a lot of WarriorBabes that have listened to me share this have created, like, Kate is one of them, and she started the whole trend, they do the higher self and current self thing on their wrist.
Like HS, then a greater-than symbol, then CS. It's higher self and current self. So the topic today is that there are always two yous inside of you. And they try to control you. You have the you that wants to accomplish goals. And then you have the you that's stuck in the comfort zone, who is scared to do shit or is afraid to do it, or listens to Mary, Joe and, I don't know why I threw in Kate's name, but just Mary, Joe and Harry, about how they should be. There's that you, and then there's a you that's inside you.
It's screaming. It wants to accomplish goals. So which one are you going to be? Which one do you want to be, right? I'm going to help you establish that today. As you guys are WarriorBabes, as you develop the WarriorBabe lifestyle, you are no longer thinking from the perspective of who you are right now. The real question that you want to be asking yourself on a daily basis is: who are you becoming? It's not who you are now, because the reason why you're here and getting started in the WarriorBabe lifestyle is because of the results you have right now.
It's because of where you are right now, right? You're not happy. You want to change. You want to create that change. So now it's: who are you becoming? And you really have to start thinking about that. I shared this with my VIP group about two weeks ago on our VIP Q&A, or Huddle. And, oh my God, it was one of the most powerful calls that I think I've ever had with my community and the VIP. We were crying. We were happy. We were like, holy shit, this is some serious stuff.
And I'm so excited to share it with you guys today. So you're no longer thinking of who you are right now. You're thinking about who you are becoming, because who you are right now is going to change. You are going to change into the person that you want to become. You're going to change into the body that you want to become. So it's not who you are now and the body that you have now. It's who you are becoming and what body you are building.
So you see, you have these current beliefs about yourself. You have defined yourself as something, right? I am someone. Maybe you see things on social media and you identify yourself with them, or you hear somebody talking about it and you identify yourself with that person or what they're going through. It's human nature. We're so quick to hold and grasp the ideas of who and how we are, or think that we should be, because of what Mary or Joe or Harry said or what social media said. We're so quick to hold on to that idea. Even if it's not a good idea, even if it's not really true to you, if it's not your truth, but you hear somebody talking about it and maybe you've been through that situation, you're like, oh yeah, I'm that same way.
But are you really? Are you that same way now? You may be, but are you going to be that same way when you become who you want to be, when you have the body that you want to have, the goals that you're working towards? So many of the things that you may have identified yourself with... and guys, I can already tell this call is going to be fucking fire. I am just flowing right now and sharing this with you, so please make sure you're tuned in, because it's going to be a super eye-opening experience for you. I've shared this concept with you before, but this one's just going to be it.
Today's going to be a game changer in the way that I'm flowing and sharing this with you. So you define yourself as something, right? I am something. I am fat. I am overweight. I am skinny. I am ugly. I am smart. I am dumb. I'm not a good reader. I am whatever, right? You define yourself as something, and then that self-image that you hold of yourself gets stronger and stronger and stronger as you go through time, as you continue to tell yourself: I am this, I am this, I am this. And even if it's something negative, even if it's not true, not a true fact about you, your assumption of yourself will harden into a fact, and it will become real, even if it's false.
And then your beliefs become a reality. So if you are someone who tells yourself that you are fat, then you are going to form that belief inside your mind. You're going to replay that negative experience over and over and over again. You're going to keep telling yourself this. You're going to keep telling yourself that you're out of shape. You're going to keep telling yourself that this is hard to do, or that you don't have the time to do it. You're going to have these negative beliefs inside your mind as to why you're fat, or why it's hard, or why you think that you cannot do this.
And then you create the actions that are in harmony with the beliefs you're holding for yourself. I talked about this: beliefs, actions, results, feedback. I'm going to share more about that in just a bit. But the beliefs that you're holding about yourself, the I am statement that you're holding about yourself, is going to become your reality. And then you create actions that are in harmony with whatever your beliefs are. So if you think, I am overweight, you don't think that you can get into shape. So you don't try to eat healthy. Then you don't try to exercise. Then you get more overweight, right? Your belief is, I am overweight, or I can't do this. So then you don't try to eat healthy. You don't try to exercise.
You get stuck in this. And think about this, guys. If you have been overweight before, think about the time that you were overweight and what you were doing that did not help your situation, right? You kept playing your thoughts over and over inside your mind, and therefore you just continued to binge. You continued to not eat healthy. You continued to not exercise, until that one point came to you and you were like, this fucking sucks. I need to make a change, right?
And then, in that period of making that change, the two yous are going to fight. One is like, no, I'm not that person, I'm still fat. But then you've got the other you that's like, shit, I have goals, and I want to make myself healthy, and I want to become a healthier, fit version of myself. So you've got to hear that, right? You're always going to be pulled back to your comfort zone. That person is your identity. You've worked so hard to make that identity, even though it's not a good identity for you, and you're always going to be pulled back to it because it's comfortable. You're used to it. But instead of thinking that way, you have to lean more to the side of, hey, no, I'm not fat. I'm not overweight. I may be here now, but that's not who I'm going to be.
And that's where you can start thinking, I am becoming fit, right? I am becoming fit. I am becoming healthy. I am becoming something that is more positive for myself, instead of these negative shit thoughts that are going on inside my head. And then you start to believe that you can. So then you eat well, you exercise, you take action that's going to support these new thoughts and new beliefs that you have of yourself.
And then you end up getting to your goal, right? So I used a lot of good examples in there. If you think that you are overweight, if you think that you cannot do something, if you think that something is fucking hard, if you think, oh, well, the other person could do it, but I can't. Or, oh, it's her fucking genetics, and I'm stuck with my genetics, so, well, shit, I can't do it, right? If you keep thinking those false concepts of yourself, believe me, your assumptions are going to harden into a fact. You're going to believe that it's true, and it's really not.
Because your beliefs become the reality. Then the beliefs lead into your actions, and your actions lead into results. And then your results give you the feedback of, well, this sucks, I'm just going to continue to go down this avenue of, I'm fat and overweight, and her genetics are great, and blah, blah, blah. Whatever you're playing in your head. As soon as you change your beliefs, what happens is the beliefs drive you into actions, and they create the results, and they give you the feedback. This is the feedback loop that I'm talking about. And that feedback circles back around to create the beliefs that we hold.
So if you believe that you can, then you're going to start taking action: oh my God, I'm meal prepping my meals right now. I don't really give a fuck what Harry and Joe and Mary are saying. The outside environment doesn't determine the goals that I want to accomplish. I need to focus on me and my mindset. I am. I can do this. I deserve to do this for myself. I deserve to do this for my kids. Once you start eliminating what other people think, then you have your own thoughts.
Wow, that's fire. Once you eliminate what other people think about you, you can hear your own thoughts coming through. And then your own beliefs are going to get stronger and stronger about what you want to accomplish for yourself. So once you can eliminate what people are saying, like why are you doing this, and not give a fuck what other people say about your self-image... I'm actually pulling out a book right now, all in the moment, babes, because this is going to drill home what I'm trying to say when I can read it from a book.
This book is Psycho-Cybernetics. It's so freaking good. All right. So what is your self-image? Well, you can't see it. You can't touch it. You can't taste it. But nonetheless, it is real. It is as real as the chair you sit on as I'm reading this book to you. It is as real as the hands with which you turn the pages, as I'm turning the pages in the book. Your self-image is as real as it can be.
Your self-image is your picture of yourself. It's your opinion of yourself. It's your value judgment about yourself. And this image of yourself you carry with you out into the world. It helps determine the caliber of your experiences. So if you think you cannot do it, well, shit, your self-image is going to be like, oh, I suck, I can't do this, this is hard, blah, blah, blah, right? You basically are going to keep saying that you cannot do this. So once you can eliminate what other people think about you... it's either you or somebody else.
So who are you? Look at yourself in the mirror. But who is this face? Who are you? Are you a self-directed person? Are you strong enough to live your life? Or are you a person who feels his worthlessness and spends his time dodging and turning and trying to please, and Mary, Joe and Harry is where I got it from, remodeling his personality repeatedly in his attempts to please, reshaping his image of himself so often that he loses track of who he actually is?
And guys, this hits home for me, because when I first started my fitness journey, I was so concerned and worried about what other people would think about me. I was so concerned and worried about what my ex-fiancé and his family would think about me when I walked into the room bringing my meals and they were eating their traditional Lebanese meals. I was so worried about what other people would think about me. If I went to the gym, my ex-fiancé was like, who are you going to the gym with? Are people talking to you? Are people flirting with you? I was so worried about what other people would think about me.
But you have to come to grips with yourself. This next paragraph that I'm going to read to you is fire. You have to come to grips with yourself. You must each day, if only for a little while, shake off your responsibilities, fight off your pressures, and let yourself think about the most important person in the world: you. How are you doing? Are you happy? Are you working toward your goals? Are you somebody else? Are you strong enough to be you? You don't worry about what Mary, Joe and Harry think.
Because if you continue to allow your outside world to shape the beliefs that you hold about yourself, if you're remodeling yourself and reshaping yourself because you're trying to please Mary and Joe and these other people, you've got to understand that your happiness doesn't come from them. Your happiness comes from accepting yourself for the imperfect person that you are and making yourself stronger and stronger and stronger.
If you spend your day trying to imitate somebody else, you tarnish the good image of yourself that you can build and cherish. So stop measuring yourself by the standards of other people. Use your own standards. Stop measuring yourself by the beliefs of other people. Create your own beliefs. Stop trying to imitate your favorite person, or stop trying to imitate somebody that you are not, right? It's you at the end of the day. You, not somebody else.
It's you. You are the most important person in your life. Once you can eliminate the environment around you that's not supporting you and the goals that you want to accomplish, you can start formulating your own thought structures and your own beliefs. And once you can hear your own words and what you want to accomplish, and you can hear yourself motivating yourself, getting yourself inspired and wanting to take action, that's where you're going to create the strength within you. So whatever belief you have of yourself will become a reality. Over time, that sense of reality and self-identity gets very, very strong, right? I said that a couple of minutes ago.
Especially when we define ourselves as a particular person unable to change, right? So if you think, well, she can do this, I can't. Or she's got good genetics, I don't. If you define yourself as a person unable to change, that means you're going to be in a lot of conflict, because whenever something comes to you that isn't you, you are going to be like, oh, I can't do that. Or it's going to freak you out, or you're going to get scared, right?
Comfort zone. This is because that isn't you, and you can't accept anything that isn't you. So let me say one more thing: all conflict within a person comes from defining who we are, because in defining who we are, by default we must define who we are not. So if you think that you are overweight, you think that you can't get skinny, so you won't exercise, you won't actually eat healthy, so you become more overweight. This is what I mean.
If you come into something where you say you cannot, and something is literally being presented to you in your reality that will help you create the change, you're going to be freaked out and think, I cannot do it. But you guys, you can do it. You can do anything that you put your mind to when it comes to accomplishing the goals you have for yourself and your body. This is where the conflict comes into play. If you think that you cannot, well, guess what? You won't be able to. But if you think you can, and you can do anything, then you will be able to do it.
This is where you have to create new beliefs, new systems inside of your mind. Instead of, I cannot, you have to say, I can, even though it's scary, even though it's overwhelming, even though you have no idea where you're going to get to. This is the starting point where you have to start creating these shifts for yourself, right? So you have where you are in this current moment. You have these beliefs about yourself. You have these standards that you want to accomplish. But if you're stuck in who you are now and you're thinking from that mentality, that person has beliefs that aren't going to help you reach the goals that you want to accomplish.
You have to formulate new ones that are going to help you and drive you into being a stronger, more confident version of yourself, right? I love this topic. It just lights me up. So the real question to ask right now is: who are you becoming? You have your current self, and that self meets the opportunity to become part of a program that's helping you change your fucking body, change your whole mindset, change your whole world.
Because when you do that, you become a role model to other people. Your children look up to you. But you have to create the change first. You have to be the root of all change. So how do you go about breaking through this shit? You have to break the chains of the identity that you've built up from the stories and beliefs of the past. And then you must let go of who you currently are to become who you want to be. And that involves doing things that we haven't identified with in our current self and its identity.
So the best way to break through that, to break down your current self, is by doing things that you wouldn't naturally do, right? If you don't like vegetables, fucking eat vegetables. If you don't like working out, go fucking work out. If you don't like counting macros, well, guess what? That's going to be the thing that gets you to your goals, so start fucking counting your macros. If you know you're a terrible planner, then start being a better planner. If you tell yourself you're a terrible planner, you're going to be a fucking terrible planner. You're not going to take the actions to start planning.
It's as simple as that, you guys. If you think that you cannot, then you won't. If you think that you can, then you will, right? And the most important thing in this whole concept of working towards something and becoming something is that you can't merely think of it. I'm sure you guys can see the image inside your head. If you haven't ever created that image inside of your head, start creating an image of what you want to be.
Okay? So you see this image inside of your head of the body that you want to have. Clearly, that's not where you are right now. And that's what I mean by it's not about where you are right now. It's about who you are becoming. It's about the mental image that you see inside of your mind. And if you can see that inside of your head, that's one step toward already accomplishing it. If your mind can see it, your mind can achieve it. So it's really about defining that person.
But it's not just about thinking of it, okay? It's fun and it's great thinking of it, but it's so much more powerfully possible when you can think from it. When you can think from that person that you are becoming. Guys, let me take a step back. I did this in the 31 weeks that I was working to accomplish the goals I wanted with my body, but I didn't realize that I was doing this until after I had accomplished it.
I didn't realize I was going through these mindset strategies, working my mind and getting it stronger, until after I had accomplished my goals. Until I started reading books and I was like, holy shit, this is what I did. That's why I'm sharing this with you right fucking now. Because if you guys can get a grip on this now, your results are going to accelerate. You're going to take action. It's going to accelerate the results. It all starts within your mind and believing that you can accomplish this.
So when you think from that person that you see inside your mind, when you think from her: what are the actions she's taking? What is she doing? Is she meal prepping her meals? Fuck yeah, she's meal prepping her meals, because she's got that body. And that body came with work. Meal prepping is work. Going to the gym is work. That body that you see in your mind, the goal that you have for yourself, what did she do to get to that point? And then you need to start doing that. Start thinking from that person. She's got the body. She's probably eating super healthy.
She's probably hitting her macros, right? Guess what? Right now, you need to start hitting your macros. Right now, you need to start working out, or continue to work out. Think from that person. What is she doing? How is she moving? And then, once you can think from her, how the fuck do you feel? Not now, but how do you feel seeing that image inside of your head? How do you feel accomplishing those goals?
Are you excited? Do you feel confident? This is what you need to focus on, on top of the exercise and dieting and the routine, mundane things. Every single day that you wake up, think about that vision and think about how you feel. I am getting fit and healthy because I feel so confident in my body, right? I am something that person already is, and I feel... How do you feel accomplishing that goal? For me, I would see this vision inside of my head of being shredded.
Right? Because I was going for competition. And guys, being in the now, when I wasn't at that goal yet, I was like, this isn't real. And that's just the two yous inside of you fighting. One person is trying to pull you one way. The other one is like, no, shit, you can't accomplish this. And you've got to go towards the one that's believing in you. You have to believe in yourself. Because once you can, then you can get to that result faster. Because what happened with me is I would see this mental image inside of my head every single fucking day.
And there were situations arising around me in my present moment. And literally, I would just go to the person inside of my head, and I would think, how would that person react or respond in this moment right now? Would she have the drink with her friends? Or would she know that that one drink is probably going to turn into five, because I was a fucking party animal before I started my journey? And then the five is going to mean I wake up the next day feeling like shit. So, no, I'm not going to take that drink.
That's how I would think. I didn't realize I was fucking doing this until after my journey. And that's the way you guys should really start thinking: okay, I have this picture of what I want to accomplish. If you don't have a picture inside of your mind, go on Instagram. Find pictures. Find things that you want to look at for inspiration. And then form that mental picture inside of your mind. And at any point where your mind is like, fuck that, you can't accomplish that, literally just cast that shit away.
Throw that shit away. It's for the fucking birds. All right? You can accomplish what you want to accomplish. You just have to build up your inner self-belief to know that you can. And you do that by forming that mental picture inside of your head, feeling what it feels like to accomplish that goal, and thinking from that person that you are becoming. Don't think about now. Think about who you are becoming and working towards. I love that topic. I love it because I've experienced it. I just didn't realize I was doing it until after I had accomplished the goals that I wanted for my body.
And now I'm here. I'm here in the body that I've always wanted. And I look back, and this is what I had to do. You have to put in the work, guys. It's not always easy. It's not always comfortable. But guess what? When you get to where you want to be, all that matters is you. All that matters is that you did it. You accomplished your goal. And you're going to feel super happy and proud of yourself. Because at the end of the day, that's what it comes down to: your happiness. You can make yourself happy.
Everything else around you becomes happy and exciting. People look up to you. Kids look up to you. Your husband looks up to you. And whoever doesn't support you on your journey, they're just not meant to be in your world. That's another topic. But I hope you guys enjoyed this rally call. Let me know your feedback inside the Facebook group. I would love to hear it, because this is one of my favorite topics to talk about. So let me know what you guys think. And I will see you guys on our live Q&A on Wednesday. Bye, everyone.
