How to Set Weekly Intentions for Your Fitness Goals

In this video

A new month is a chance to look honestly at what got in your way last month and decide what you'll do differently. In this WarriorBabe Saturday rally call, Nikkiey Stott asks you to own your goals with no excuses and no victim mentality, then turn that reflection into action.

Her method is simple. Every Sunday, pick one or two realistic intentions for the week, like drinking more water, hitting your macros, pushing more weight in the gym, meal prepping better or getting better sleep. At the end of each day, check in with yourself and ask whether you did it or at least moved toward it. Wanting a better body isn't enough. Taking small actions every day is what separates the women who reach their goals from the ones who stay stuck.

Nikkiey also explains where confidence really comes from: saying you'll do something and then doing it. She asks you to get comfortable working outside your comfort zone and to build momentum now, before the holiday season arrives. The call opens with tips for new WarriorBabe members on avoiding overwhelm and finding answers, plus news of the new body type meal plans in the app.

Key takeaways

  • Look back at last month and name what got in your way, whether it was excuses, time, other people or your own choices, and take full responsibility for it.
  • Every Sunday, set just one or two intentions for the week instead of a long list that will only overwhelm you.
  • Make your intentions small and actionable, such as drinking more water, hitting your macros, pushing more weight, packing your meals or setting them up the night before.
  • At the end of each day, check in with yourself and ask whether you did what you intended or at least moved in that direction.
  • Picture the person you want to be in six months and ask whether she would let an excuse keep her out of the gym.
  • Confidence is built by saying you'll do something and then actually doing it, every day.
  • Focus on small things, because simple is easier, and start building momentum now before the holiday season.
  • If you're new to WarriorBabe, follow the blast-off emails and complete one task per day rather than trying to learn everything in the first few days.

Questions answered

How many fitness goals should I focus on each week?

Nikkiey recommends choosing just one or two things to focus on each week, set on Sunday. A whole laundry list will only leave you overwhelmed.

What are examples of good weekly fitness intentions?

The examples Nikkiey gives are drinking more water, hitting your macros, getting more weight up in the gym, meal prepping better, getting better sleep and packing or setting up your meals the night before.

How do I stay accountable to my weekly intentions?

At the end of each day, check in with yourself and ask whether you did what you wanted to do, or at least moved in the direction of the intention you set.

Where does confidence come from on a fitness journey?

Nikkiey explains that confidence comes from saying you're going to do something and then actually doing it. It isn't something you pick up at the grocery store. You build it with daily action.

Do I need to make big changes to reach big fitness goals?

No. Nikkiey says she used to think she had to do ten different things, but all you really have to do is focus on small things, because simple is better and easier.

I just joined WarriorBabe and feel overwhelmed. Where should I start?

Follow the blast-off emails, which give you one task per day to set you up for long-term success. Then dive into the workouts and macros when you're ready to be fully focused on them.

Nikkiey: What's up, WarriorBabes? Hey, rock stars. Nikkiey here, and welcome to our Saturday WarriorBabe Revolution Rally Call. It's about to be lit, guys. It's about to be lit. What's up, everybody? So excited to be here with you guys. We'll get started in just a few minutes.

So you know the drill. Go into the Facebook group right now and tell the other babes that this call is live, it started. And like I said, it's going to be lit. Literally, you can just leave that in the comment: Nikkiey said it's going to be lit, get your butts here right now, the call is getting started. Go do it. Go to the Facebook group and let them know this is going live. We'll get started in just a few minutes.

First of all, I want to welcome all of the new WarriorBabes who are new this week. I see you guys posting and introducing yourselves and welcoming yourselves, and we are so excited that you are here in this amazing community, and super excited that we get to be a part of your journey here with WarriorBabe, where strong is the new sexy.

So, you guys, I know that when you join something, it's a little overwhelming at first, but literally, I've set this up so silly, stupid, simple that I want you guys to not feel overwhelmed. Now, I know that's easier said than done, but there are steps that I want you to take before you go, oh, I've got to get into the workouts, I've got to do the macros, I've got to figure everything out. Calm down, Cheryl. Calm down. You're not going to get everything in the first four days. You're not going to get everything in the first five days.

Listen, this isn't another 30-day challenge where you're going to be up, lost and gone by the time it's over. So I want you guys to know that this is all set up for you to be successful by completing one task per day that's setting you up for long-term success. If you check your email on a daily basis, each day you're going to get an email with one task to complete, and it's going to set you up, like understanding how to use this application and when you can start implementing the workouts.

Listen, I see you guys. Some of you joined like one day ago, and you're already asking about the workout section. Look, you're going to get there in the blast-off emails, and I'll tell you exactly where to go for it: what your goals are, this is the section you want to go to. So take it day by day when you first join, and I guarantee you're not going to feel overwhelmed. All the women that you see who are super successful inside this program started it off on the strong foot, and they implemented one thing per day. And then they dove into it when they were 100% ready, so that they were 100% focused on it and not feeling overwhelmed.

So those blast-off emails are there for a reason, and they're going to prompt you in each direction you should be going on a daily basis. And I'll even tell you guys now that they have all been updated to match the new content inside our application. We were getting a lot of feedback like, oh, this doesn't match the pictures that are on my app. And I was like, oh yeah, we fixed that content. So I had to go in and fix some of the videos, and those are all now in alignment with what our content shows inside the application.

So that's the first thing. Anybody that's overwhelmed, take it day by day by going through the blast-off emails.

The next thing is, don't be the person that asks questions, you guys, that can be found inside the application, because I'm just going to be brutally honest with you: one of us in the Facebook group is just going to tell you to go to that location inside the application so that you can remember where it is. If we tell you exactly what to do, we're not helping you. We're not serving you. So when we tell you to go look in this location and you find it yourself, that's how you're going to learn. That's how you're going to gain the knowledge. That's how you're going to know how to get your question answered.

Now, if your question can't be answered inside the application, then we've built an entire Frequently Asked Questions resource page, which is a whole platform where all of our frequently asked questions are. So if you're a newbie and you have a question, I guarantee a veteran WarriorBabe has had the same question as you, so we've taken that question and put it inside this resource page. You can find those links inside your app. If you swipe left on your home screen and go to the Need Help section, that's our entire Frequently Asked Questions resource page. It's also linked to every single WarriorBabe Wednesday Q&A that we do. So that's the platform for the frequently asked questions.

Now, if your question can't be answered inside the app, and it can't be answered inside the resource page, then you want to head to the Facebook group. Ask your fellow WarriorBabes the question that you have, and because our group is so freaking amazing, I guarantee you're going to get an answer within a matter of a minute. You can also tag Kate, who is our community manager. You can tag me. You can tag us specifically to help you with any questions that you have. Okay?

So really quick, before we dive into the topic: you guys have noticed the big update for the week. I feel like we update something every week. It's pretty awesome. We actually have something coming next week which is going to make a massive difference to everything that you've probably all been dealing with, that we've been dealing with. It's just going to be a hell of a lot cleaner. I'm not going to drop it now. I'll try my best to keep the secret.

But this week, we implemented the body type meal plans. So now, in the weekly meals section of your app, if you click on it, there are weekly meal plans for each of your body types: ectomorphs, mesomorphs and endomorphs. There's also a shopping list for those specific meal plans. The meal plans are the same, but the macros are different, so that essentially helps with each of your body types.

All right, guys. So that's the big news for the week. Now we can dive into today's topic, which I'm really excited about. I don't really have a headline or a topic name. I just have what I want to share with you guys, which is coming straight from my heart, from what I experienced this week for myself, how I have been in the past month and how this month has been different.

The biggest thing is, guys, this week marked a new month. October 1st was on Tuesday. And that means it's time for you to set some intentions for the things that may not have gotten hit last month, right? Maybe something happened, or you got in your own way. Remember, we don't play the victim mentality. We're not blaming anybody else but ourselves for the goals we're trying to accomplish, because at the end of the day, they are your goals and you are setting out to accomplish them. Nobody else. Nobody gets in your way. Only you.

So let's think back to September. Was there any time or point where you didn't show up for yourself, or you let things get in the way? You let excuses get in the way, you let time get in the way, you let people get in the way. You let whatever get in the way of the goals you were trying to set forth and accomplish. So think back to that. And I want you to think: this week, it's a new month, and this is a really, really important time for you to set the intentions for what you want to accomplish this month that are going to keep you driving toward the goals you are here to achieve.

I say this a lot, and I will continue to say it until it's embedded in the back of your mind: you guys come here to WarriorBabe with goals, right? And it's my job and duty and my passion to share with you the proper tools and the proper resources. I'm telling you exactly what you need to do. Now all you actually have to do is implement it, and it's my job to call you out when your actions aren't congruent with the goals you want to accomplish.

So right now I'm on this call calling you out on what you didn't accomplish last month. Now it's your job to do what you need to do this month. I can't be there packing your meals for you. I can't be there meal prepping for you. I can't be there to grocery shop for you. I can't be there to do your workout for you. As much as I wish I could be in each one of your gyms pushing you and driving you, I want you to think that I am there in the back telling you to fucking lift, to go harder, to get that intensity up. I want you to always think that I am in the room with you telling you to push harder, telling you that you need to be the hardest worker in the room. Always remember that.

But I can't be there physically, as much as I want to, right? I can't do the things that you have to do on a daily basis to get these habits into alignment. So think right now for yourself: what is something that you didn't do last month? What got in the way? Did you allow excuses to get in the way? And what can you do this month that is going to get you into that momentum, that is going to get you into the mindset of getting to the goals you are here to accomplish? No more bullshit. No more excuses. No more, oh, but this happened, or, oh, but I'm just so tired.

What can you do this month, each week? Each week, break it down, guys. What about this week? For example, with my VIP babes, we have calls two times a week, and mainly on the one we do on Saturdays, we go into the conversation of what the wins were for the week. Each person talks about their win. Then we break it down to talking about programming and what's next. And then at the end of our call, each person closes out with the intention of something they're going to do this week that is going to keep their mind focused on the goals they want to accomplish.

For example, drinking more water. For example, hitting and being on their macros. For example, getting some weight up inside the gym, because sometimes we overestimate ourselves and we'll push some weight, but it's not really the weight we know we can push, right? So is it that? Is it meal prepping better? Is it getting better sleep? What are some actionable items you can put into place for yourself that are going to move you forward each week?

Set it on Sunday and tell yourself, okay, this week I'm going to focus on this. And just make it one or two things. It doesn't have to be a whole laundry list of fucking shit to do. If you do that, you're just going to be overwhelmed. Just make it one or two things. And then each day, check in with yourself at the end of the day and ask: did I do what I wanted to do? Did I accomplish, or at least move in the direction of, the intention I set for myself?

Guys, this is absolutely game-changing, absolutely game-changing, if you actually implement it. You won't understand the intensity of what this can do for you until you actually do it.

I shared on my Instagram story the other day about when you say you're going to do something. When you say, I want to do this, I want to work out, I want a better body, blah, blah, blah. You can want everything, and you can talk about things you should do, but stop shoulding all over yourself. Seriously. Do actionable items every single day. Take action. That is what draws the line between go-getters and people who stay complacent.

The people who are achieving their goals on a daily basis are doing it because they are taking action on a daily basis. They're not getting tripped up in the excuses their mind plays tricks on them with, like, oh, you can get by with this, or you can do this, or you can treat yourself, or you can go over on your macros. No. Think about the person you want to be, and think about how that person is going to act. Would that person allow excuses to get in her way? Would that person allow herself to skip a day in the gym? You're working toward your future self on a daily basis. See yourself in six months. Is that person really going to let you down by not going to the gym when you know you should go?

So stop wanting everything, because wanting everything isn't going to get you to your goals. Wanting isn't going to excite you into action. It's not until you actually take the action that you fall in love with it, that you see how you feel, that you see how this is going to be a life-changing experience.

So how many times have you guys told yourselves, especially in the last month, I want to do this, and then you get to the end of the month and you're still spinning your fucking wheels because you haven't implemented anything? And then you get so frustrated with yourself. Guys, I literally want to cringe. That feeling drives me insane. I can't stand the feeling of saying I want to do something and watching each fucking day go by while I'm not doing anything about it.

Yeah, the shit you want to do is going to be scary. The shit you want to accomplish is going to be scary. But this is where I am pushing you outside of your comfort zone, because no sexy body gets built and discovered and achieved inside a comfort zone. Let me be the first one to tell you that. Everything I've done on my journey has always been outside my comfort zone. That is the stuff that gets me going. I thrive off of that. I love pushing myself further and further every single day than I could ever have imagined, with my body and with my mindset.

So like I said, I cringe at that feeling of, I should have done this yesterday. I can't stand it. I used to be that person. I used to merely wish and want. I saw all these people who had the bodies they had, and I would wish and want, and wish and want. And I was like, fuck this. No. I can't be in that complacent place of allowing excuse after excuse to get in the way.

And then there's that feeling that you're letting yourself down. That's why you get so frustrated with yourself. I can't tell you how many times I've fucked up, and at the end of the day I'm just so pissed off at myself. But I'm the only one. That's my fault. I'm the one who takes full responsibility that I screwed up that day, or that I screwed up for the past couple of days. I don't like that feeling. I like to be proud of myself, because that's where confidence comes from.

That is where you build confidence: when you say you're going to do something and you actually do it. Confidence is not something you just go pick up at the grocery store. It's something you have to build for yourself on a daily basis. And everything I'm telling you here today, setting the intention, setting the small things you're going to focus on each week, and actually taking action, not merely wanting but doing, is going to be an absolute game changer for you, babe.

You can't continue to want. You have to actually do. And when you actually do, that's when the momentum comes into place, and you learn every single day how to make something better. You learn how to prep your meals better, the smallest freaking things. You learn how to grocery shop faster. You learn how to get your macros better. You learn what didn't work and what will work.

Guys, seriously, this is gold-mine information. Nobody talks about this. You know why? Because I don't think anybody has truly gone through it. I know how you all feel when you don't accomplish your goal, because I've been in your shoes. And I know how you all feel when you do hit it. I saw babes in the group today sharing how they were on point with their macros, check marks, their workouts were done. That is such an amazing feeling, right? And that makes you want to go back and do more. When you go and do more, you build confidence. And when you build confidence, you walk through everything in your whole entire life like, I am a fucking badass. I can accomplish anything.

Because what you think you couldn't do, you will do. Whatever you think you can't do, and then you do it, that's where confidence comes from. Anything you want to do, and you do it, that's where confidence comes from.

So the moral of this rally call is to set intentions for yourself on a weekly basis that are realistic for you and your goals, and actually take action on them. Build the confidence within yourself. Listen to me when I say each one of you on this call is fucking unstoppable. You all have the power within you to strive and be the best person you can possibly be. But you have to get out of the tricks your mind plays, telling you excuses and bullshit negativity and all this crap.

Step on it, like you're stepping on one of those really disgusting bugs that are around here from China or Japan or something like that. Pretend you're just stepping on one of those suckers. That's your bullshit. You're stepping on it. And now you're going to win and take action on being stronger and better. That's probably a terrible metaphor or analogy, but you guys know what I mean. It's like taking a big leap off a cliff and knowing your parachute is going to open, and literally doing a dance with your fears. Anything you have that's scaring you, that's not comfortable, dance with it. Don't let it run your mind. Just dance with it, and see how drastically you're going to change when you actually accomplish it.

So set the intentions, go out and win big, and see how much you surprise yourself at the end of the week and the end of the month. This is your month, babe. This is your month. You are unstoppable. Do what I'm telling you to do right now, with small little actions: drinking more water, hitting your macros, pushing more weight, packing your meals, setting your meals up the night before. Those small things.

I don't know why we always think that to accomplish big things, it has to be some big, drastic thing. I always thought that, too. I thought, oh, I have to do ten different things in order to get there. Really, all you have to do is focus on small things. Simple is better. Simple is easier. So just focus on the small things.

By the end of the month, I guarantee you'll see it. This is the time to pick up momentum. This is the time to really drive yourself closer and closer to your goals, because we're about to hit the holiday season, and ain't nobody got time for the holiday season with the food, right? Luckily, we have macros and we can fit our stuff in, but this is where you want to pick up the momentum: right now, yesterday. Yesterday is when you want to pick up this momentum as we face the holiday season. So do this now. Do this yesterday. And I promise you it's going to be game-changing.

So guys, let me know how you enjoyed this rally call inside the Facebook group. I would love to hear feedback. I would love to hear whether you liked it or not. Just be honest with me, because I take that feedback and think about what the next rally call should be about.

All right, babe, kill it. Show up for yourself, and continue to do that on a daily basis. I love you all. Have a kick-ass weekend, and I'll see you on Wednesday. Thank you.
